Yes, your player can power on automatically, however, it requires a change in the BIOS to work properly.
If you have a first-generation Player Max (pictured below), follow these steps:
- Disconnect the power cable from the player.
- Connect a keyboard to one of the available USB ports.
- Hold down the F2 or DEL button on the keyboard, reconnect the power cable and press the power button. Once the BIOS screen appears you can release the F2 or DEL button.
- Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, move to the Chipset or Advanced menu tab.
- Press Enter, then change "State" or "State After G3" to S0.
- Move to the last menu tab on the right, and select the option to Save and Exit.
Depending on your BIOS version, you may also need to take the following steps to accomplish this:
- Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, move to the Boot menu tab.
- You will see an option for "Auto Power" here. Enable it by pressing enter on this line, moving to the enable option with your arrow key, and pressing enter again.
- Move to the last menu tab on the right, and select the option to Save and Exit.
If you have a second-generation Player Max (pictured below), follow these steps:
- Disconnect the power cable from the player.
- Connect a keyboard to one of the available USB ports.
- Hold down the F2 or DEL button on the keyboard, reconnect the power cable and press the power button. Once the BIOS screen appears you can release the F2 or DEL button.
- Using the arrow keys on your keyboard (or a USB mouse), move to the Power, Performance and Cooling menu tab.
- Select the Secondary Power Settings option.
- Change the After Power Failure setting to Power On.
- Press the F10 button on your keyboard to save the changes and exit.
