This means that the player is connected to the internet and has sent a status report to our servers within the last 3 hours indicating that it is turned on and displaying content.
Screenly will report a player as offline when the player has not contacted our server for 4 hours or more. This can happen because the player has either lost internet connectivity or has had it's power cable disconnected. A player that has lost internet connection will still display content on screen, a player that has been unplugged will not.
An offline player that has power will go through a number of automated troubleshooting steps to reestablish it's internet connection overnight.

Out of sync
It’s normal for you to see an out-of-sync screen status after making any change to your playlist. An out-of-sync screen status means that the player has not yet fully downloaded the latest version of the playlist(s) assigned to it. In this case, it’s best to wait a few minutes as the player downloads any updates made to your playlist. The length of time when the player stays out of sync would generally be determined by the size of the content in the playlist to be downloaded and your network speed. If a player takes more than 60 minutes to complete syncing
Status updates more quickly on the screens page, so check there to see if the player is back in sync. Must refresh page in your browser to see status updates.
A screen in inactive status means that there is not an active playlist assigned to the screen at this time, or that the screen was manually disabled. An inactive Screenly player will display a black page with a faint gray Screenly logo on screen.
To check that the screen is enabled:
Go to the Screens page and click on the name of the inactive screen. Then click on settings for that screen, and on the settings page check that the “Enabled” switch is set to “on”, highlighted green and to the right.
Next check that there are playlist(s) assigned to play on the screen, that the playlists are also enabled, and that these playlists also have a schedule that would permit them to play now, or in the future. If all playlists are scheduled for future dates then the screen will show as inactive until then.
